Good to see you putting the noisy new scanner to good use. When you were out, it kept making scanning noises like it was starving for scanning consumption! I had to unplug it, I was worried that it was going to try to scan me as a napped.

Warren Beatty and I share the same surname, and the former bears a really uncanny resemblance to my dad. Like, he looks more like him than I do. We've been trying to figure out if we're related to him but haven't been able to pin down that info, even with all the ancestry stuff available online these days.

It'd be pretty cool if he was my far-flung cousin or something.

i think until people start actually admitting that they themselves are the problem and have just as much an agenda as the next person...there will be zero change. it is all empty words, variables, and circumstances that may be bad..but are the reason for our existence in the first place (our as in us discussing this nonsense now).

Reading this made me feel a bit embarrassed, which I think is somewhat telling. I don't really love reading other people's blogs (other than yours, obviously), nor do I really get a sense of satisfaction from finding out other people read my blog - but the ACT of blogging is somehow enjoyable to me. Whhhhhat does that mean?

I've been blogging about Twitter lately as well, and I think that the best way to make it sound legit is to explain that its character limit forces you to get the point across concisely. The web's got a lot of data to sort through, so I think the goal of Twitter is to eliminate a lot of the fluff. Instead of a wordy blog post, you get a bunch of concise bullets - the tweets - that are hopefully just what you're looking for because you chose to follow the publisher.

Furthermore, as I described in my latest entry, you can use tools like Summize (summize.com) to search and track whatever subject you want as it's talked about in public tweets.

As for the desire to partake in all these things, that's a tricky question. I think people who get super-involved for one reason or another start feeling pretty good about being right on the ball with whatever their vice is - social things, news, etc. So the desire to keep up with these things becomes a matter of being afraid to lose something you have, (absolute awareness of what's going on, for instance) rather than trying to get something out of it all the time. If that makes any sense.
